WFN Customs Consultants (Pty) Ltd was founded in Durban by an ex-Customs officer with over 40 years of experience in customs, shipping regulations, and trade compliance. With knowledge gained both within Customs and while working for clearing agents, we bring unmatched expertise to every client we serve.
We are passionate about making importing and exporting easier, and we are committed to exceeding customer expectations. This dedication, combined with practical and theoretical expertise, has helped us navigate the ever-changing logistics landscape and build a reputation for reliability and efficiency.
Our clients include importers, exporters, and clearing agents — and as a licensed Customs Clearing Agent in South Africa, and a licensed broker in New Zealand, we bring a strong international perspective to every project.
Many importers face challenges such as:
While importing forms may appear simple, the process involves complex regulations, duty calculations, and compliance requirements. Working with a licensed customs consultant ensures proper communication with customs authorities, compliance with the law, and peace of mind.
What Some of Our Clients Say
The team at WFN Customs Consultants walked me through every step—from product classification to required documentation—and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. We cleared customs faster than expected, and I finally feel confident expanding to international markets. Absolutely worth every penny!
"First-Time Importer? Call These Guys."
I had no idea where to start with importing equipment from Germany. I found WFN Customs Consultants online and booked a consultation. They broke everything down into plain English, helped me gather the correct HS codes, and even reviewed the commercial invoice before shipment. No hiccups at customs, and my equipment arrived on time. If you're new to importing like I was, you won’t regret using them.
"Professional, Reliable, and Detail-Oriented"
We’ve been working with WFN Customs Consultants for about six months now to streamline our import process across North America and Europe. Their consultants are highly knowledgeable and have helped us avoid several costly delays due to misclassification and missing paperwork. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish they offered 24/7 support, especially for urgent shipments. Otherwise, they’ve been excellent partners.
You’ll typically need a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, proof of origin (if applicable), and any licences or permits required for restricted goods. We’ll guide you through the exact list based on your shipment and destination.
The clearance time depends on the mode of transport (sea, air, road), the accuracy and completeness of documentation, and whether any inspections are required. We endeavour to minimise delays and proactively manage any queries with SARS (Customs & Excise) so your goods can be released as quickly as possible.
Duties and taxes are calculated based on the tariff classification of your goods, their value, and origin. In addition to customs duty, Value-Added Tax (VAT) and possible other levies may apply. We’ll provide a full estimate of all customs clearing costs before proceeding, so you’re fully informed upfront.
Yes — we cover both import and export customs clearing services. In many cases we can offer full door-to-door logistics, coordinating freight forwarding, customs clearance and delivery to final destination. If you only need part of the service (e.g., only customs clearance), we’ll tailor a solution to match your needs.
